Something to Believe In

Not Just Something to Sell

Quote from Michael Jordan: “I tried out for Varsity High School Basketball as a sophomore, but was told I was too short to play at that level. I was cut from the Varsity team. I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career and have lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

In every conversation with our leading producers we hear similar words and sentiments expressed. They have made numerous calls to prospects for an appointment and are turned down. They have made many sales presentations and have heard the potential client say “No” or “I’m not ready now.” They have driven many miles and many hours to find the prospect not home. They returned to their home and family feeling they had failed. They have taken their shot and missed.

But our leaders all make similar observations independent of each other about how they react to setbacks.

“I never give up”. “I keep on pushing myself.” “I study and practice continually to get better.” “I just work harder.”

We hear it said on every Monday morning leadership conference call. We assume that our version of the “game winning shot” is making the sale, but we would like to take that definition to a higher level. Michael won six championship rings and numerous MVP awards and that’s why we see him as having “succeeded.” We can not imagine how special he felt each time that happened. But we are not out there trying to make 3 point jump shots.

For us, as Alliance team members, our vision of making the game winning shot at the buzzer in Game 7 of the championship was felt by agents Ed Garcia and Rick Caffery when hand delivering a six figure Living Benefits claim check to each of their clients as featured in the amazing Living Benefits video. They were rewarded with tears of joy by the Webb and Dudley families and their own feeling of enormous pride. Michael could not have felt any better winning the game at the final buzzer than Ed and Rick did when they handed over that check. There is no doubt that both clients saw Ed and Rick as their hero, even more so than fans appreciated MJ.

Your clients will thank you for working as hard as you do and for having chosen to be in the “survival business” with such passion!

Our mission is helping families & businesses survive by providing our representatives with something to believe in, not just something to sell.
